Jewellery trends for 2018

With a new year close on the horizon, fashionistas all over the world will be turning their attention to 2018 trends. One of the things in the spotlight will be jewellery – whether it’s quirky and bold or delicate and dainty.

Design your own jewellery

If you have an old piece of jewellery or a special heirloom, remodelling it is a great way to bring it to life. During this process, you can take the stones and metal and create something completely new, or just tweak the piece to your taste.

You could also take a leaf out of Prince Harry’s book and unleash your inner creative – designing your own bespoke piece for yourself or a loved one. Harry completely designed Meghan Markle’s engagement ring, which included a stone from Princess Diana’s engagement ring and a diamond he sourced in Botswana.

Coloured diamonds

Diamonds are said to be a girl’s best friend, but the times are changing. No longer do people simply want standard diamonds, the demand for coloured diamonds is already in full swing. We predict that this trend for rainbow coloured diamonds will continue throughout 2018 and will be a common choice for engagement rings that stand out from the crowd.

Jewellery that draws on nature

The new year will bring an increase in the number of people wearing jewellery that connects with nature. Whether it’s floral brooches, butterfly earrings or flower shaped rings, anything that resembles the natural planet is sure to be in vogue.
